Dan Pallotta:

a writer, speaker, activist, and fundraiser who has made it his mission to change the way the world sees (and does) charity.

Non-profits and charities are often expected to run their services with little to no overhead, as donors want to see 100% of their donations go toward the cause in question.

Pallotta's now infamous TedTalk, viewed more than 4 million times - the way we think about charity is dead wrong - focuses on the double standard between non-profits and for-profits.

Pallotta has said too many non-profits are rewarded for how little they spend rather than by what they do, as frugality gets confused with morality. Big business spends money to make money and is applauded for it. Why not charities?
