Good Neighbour Award

The Linking Hands 2017 Good Neighbour Award winner (adult, South Dundas) is Lietta Tousaw of Iroquois. She is set to be presented with the award March 6 during the Municipality of South Dundas council meeting.

Nominated by House of Lazarus employee Ralph Pulfer, the Iroquois native has racked up a lifetime of good deeds and volunteer work, including several years of putting in a full day once a month for the North Dundas Green Food Box, working in the children’s clothing department at House of Lazarus for five hours every week, taxiing neighbours to medical appointments, delivering food for Meals on Wheels, doing a host of volunteer activities for the Royal Canadian Legion in Iroquois, and canvassing for a variety of charities.

“Lietta freely gives her time to help canvass for various charities and can be depended on to assist in any way possible,” Pulfer said. “Lietta Tousaw is a dedicated and very active volunteer in both North and South Dundas and is extremely deserving of the Dundas Good Neighbour Award.”

The winner was chosen anonymously by judges from Linking Hands’ Steering Committee. The three judges each received nomination letters free of all personal information so the decision could be made without bias.
