

Minimum Wage and Living Wage
The minimum wage is the lowest amount an employer is legally able to pay an employee. A living wage is a wage that adequately covers a person's basic needs.

There appears to be plenty of doomsday chatter with regard to proposed upcoming increases to Ontario's minimum wage, but what's really at stake?
Instead of buying into all the myths about how a minimum wage increase will hurt the economy, why not delve a little deeper and see what it might do to not only benefit those currently working for less than a living wage, but for their local economies as well. The increased minimum wage debate is a human rights issue - we all deserve a living wage.
